Friday nights at Vista Elks Lodge #1968 have a reputation. The band kicks in, the dance floor fills up fast, and the bar pours drinks that actually taste like drinks. That combination has earned this lodge a 4.7-star rating across 161 reviews, and the regulars will tell you it's earned every point.

Chartered at 1947 E Vista Way, this is a volunteer-driven organization where members show up not just for the happy hours and live entertainment, but because belonging here means something. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has operated lodges like this one across the country since 1868, funding scholarships, veterans' programs, and local youth initiatives. Lodge #1968 carries that mission forward on the ground in Vista, one fundraiser and one community project at a time.

The lodge also welcomes RV travelers passing through North County, offering parking with the kind of hospitality you'd expect from people who genuinely like having guests around. Debbie at the bar is the type to walk you out and help you find your spot herself.

What We Offer

The lodge calendar runs year-round with live band nights, line dancing events, and member dinners that rotate through a solid menu. Food is consistently praised in reviews, and the kitchen doesn't cut corners. If you've been burned by sad lodge food before, give this one a fair shot.

RV parking is available on-site, making Vista Elks a practical and welcoming stop for traveling Elks members and their families moving through the San Diego County corridor. Check in during staffed hours to get the full welcome experience.

Membership opens the door to a packed events schedule, access to the bar and dining room, and the chance to volunteer on committees that fund real programs in the community. The Elks run scholarship competitions, support veterans' services, and invest in youth drug awareness efforts. Joining Lodge #1968 means your membership dollars stay local and go to work fast.

"Arrived after the Senior lady Host had checked out for the day as per her phone message.. so went inside to the bar & Debbie kindly greeted me & walked me out to find me an RV spot. They said a big group was coming in next day. I said I was just passing thru on my way back to my desert home. We were joined by 2 other very welcoming Elks, Tom, Jerry who assured me told me it was OK & I could pay the Hist in the a.m., no problem, 'cause that's the way fellow Elks are. Next a.m. Camp Host came by with her little dog,, saw me & immediately assumed the worst. She was absolutely furious & started yelling at me saying in her Southern accent...'Why are you here? Your NOT supposed to be here!' (Is this how you treat a fellow Elk?) I kindly introduced myself saying since she was off duty last night, I was told by Debbie, Tom & Jerry that it was OK to park for the night, pay in a.m. However even after my explanation she continued to be rude & inhospitable. All I wanted to do was get away from her toxic demeanor. After paying her I immediately left. As a longstanding Elk, I have never been treated so badly at any Lodge. This woman does NOT represent the commaraderie & fellowship we are known for at the ELKS."

"Really wonderful as always! It's basically a gravel lot with utilities, but it's the lodge and people that make it so special! Glenda and Esther share the hosting in the RV Park. You'll probably talk to one of them. You'll also probably see Esther's husband, Vincent, around. They're all great people and they work hard to keep the park running smoothly. There is a small dog park, the Swim Step Bar where you may find some live music or a celebration of some kind (the 4th of July party was great fun!) Laundry room, the lounge, indoor and outdoor seating... it's a really great lodge! If you're in need of a friend, stop into the Vista Elks lodge and you're sure to find one. Or more!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
